My passion for this work stems from witnessing the growth of others as well as being on the path of self-discovery myself.”

How much does each session cost?
• If you are going to use an in network provider, after you fill out your insurance information, someone checks and verifies your benefits to see your cost per session. Your costs will be told to you before scheduling and/or confirming your first appointment.
• If you are going to use your out of network insurance benefits or not use insurance to pay for your sessions, a fee will be determined prior to your first appointment.
• When you choose to use your insurance either in network or out of network, you can call them (the number to call is on the back of your insurance card) to check your benefits. Here are questions you should ask to check your benefits. These questions apply to in network or out of network benefits.
- What are my psychotherapy (in network or out of network) outpatient benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is the amount?
- Do I have a copayment? If so, what is the amount?
- Do I have coinsurance? If so, what is the amount?
Below are definitions of the terms above:
Copayments are a set dollar amount that is owed for each session. The amount is usually listed on your insurance card.
Coinsurance is a percentage of the total fee per session. For example, if the session rate is 200$ and your coinsurance is 10%, the fee per session would be 20 dollars.
Deductible is the amount you have to pay out of pocket before your insurance begins to cover you. For example, if you have a 1000$ deductible, you would have to pay 1000$ out of pocket before your insurance will start paying for services.
Lower Manhattan Psychology session rates are comparable to other psychologists in the New York area. Our rates vary depending on the service you are seeking. Please contact us to learn more.
All of our providers are in network with Aetna, Optum, Oxford, and United Healthcare and almost all of our providers are in network with Cigna/Evernorth and Medicare.
We work with patients who have BCBS, Carelon, NYSHIP Empire, and many other popular insurance carriers as an out-of-network provider. Although we do not accept insurance directly, we can submit the documentation you need to receive reimbursement for services directly to your insurance company. Many insurance plans provide partial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services. Coverage for our services will vary depending on your insurance provider.
You will be charged at the rate your insurance company is paying for your sessions or if you are not using insurance, you will be charged the session rate you are paying per session if you do not cancel your appointment a full 24 hours before your appointment time and/or if more than 2 sessions are canceled in a three month period (quarters). The first quarter is Jan to March, the second quarter is April to June, the third quarter is July to September, and the fourth quarter is October to December.
- Our telehealth sessions are conducted through HIPAA compliant video/audio software.
- Find a place that is quiet, where you can speak freely, and that has a good internet connection.
- Test your camera and microphone before the session to make sure they are working.
- To maximize the software you’ll be using to conduct the sessions, turn off all notifications, and close any programs you are not using. That way you won’t be distracted during the session.
