Jennifer Kyle, Ph.D.
Dr. Kyle is a licensed clinical psychologist who has experience helping adults and adolescents with anxiety and depression to foster emotional wellness and healthy relationships.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Binghamton University and received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from City College. Her doctoral training emphasized psychodynamic therapy, relational therapy and multicultural psychotherapy.
Currently, Dr. Kyle is a tenured professor at CUNY, where she teaches in the graduate mental health program, supervising the training of mental health counselors.
Dr. Kyle’s doctoral dissertation examined culturally-based protective factors in African-Americans at risk for suicide, and she continues her research on suicide risk in ethnically-diverse college populations. Recently her work has expanded to study the training of ethnically-diverse graduate school psychology students, exploring the barriers to professional development and graduation. She has presented her work at a variety of conferences nationally and internationally. Her special interests are psychoanalysis, suicide, multiculturalism, and group dynamics.
